James set to finalise Fratton move

David James is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms at Portsmouth after the south coast club agreed a transfer fee of around £1.2m (€1.8m) with Manchester City.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp, who secured another England international Sol Campbell on a two-year deal on Tuesday, moved for the 36-year-old after his reserve goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown was ruled out for six weeks with a broken thumb.
