Shels win fiery Eircom League Cup semi
Shelbourne 1 Bohemians 0
Ex-Cameroon international Joseph Ndo scored the only goal of the game to book Shelbourne’s berth in the eircom League Cup final against either Limerick FC or Derry City next month as Bohemians finished this fiery Dublin derby with nine men.
Bohs began brightly before having striker Vinny Arkins shown a straight red card after just eight minutes for catching Shels’ defender Colin Hawkins with an arm.
Having held their own until the interval, Bohs not unexpectedly tired as the second half wore on and Shels’ numerical advantage finally began to tell.
Ollie Cahill had a shot taken off the line by Des Byrne before the only goal arrived on 77 minutes.
Ndo sent Glen Crowe in on goal and the Cameroonian arrived to stab home the square ball.
Bohs' frustration got the better of them on 88 minutes when central defender McGuinness received his second yellow card following a goalmouth scuffle.
