Gravesen considers Premiership return

Thomas Gravesen could be on his way back to the Barclays Premiership after finding himself frozen out at Real Madrid, according to his agent.

Thomas Gravesen could be on his way back to the Barclays Premiership after finding himself frozen out at Real Madrid, according to his agent.

The 30-year-old Danish midfielder has failed to nail down a regular first-team place at the Santago Bernabeu since joining Madrid from Everton 18 months ago.

And his agent John Sivebaek told BBC Sport that Gravesen is ready to return to England, but played down reports linking him with Newcastle.

Sivebaek said: “He loved England and he is only 30 so he could still play at the top level. So why not move back to England?

“I think some teams have contacted Madrid, but I don’t know anything about Newcastle. He’s not looking to leave Madrid, but it seems that he’s not going to play there.

“He’s not keen on leaving but if he’s not going to play, he will look at other options.”
