Three debut for Celtic
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan handed competitive debuts to three players in the opening Bank of Scotland Premier League game of the new season against Kilmarnock at Parkhead.
Kenny Miller started alongside Maciej Zurawski up front, Jiri Jarosik partnered the unsettled Stilian Petrov in midfield and Gary Caldwell was paired with Stephen McManus in the centre of the champions’ defence.
Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies fielded youngster Graeme Smith in goal due to first-choice keeper Alan Combe’s injury.
Simon Ford failed to shake off his knock so David Lilley and Frazer Wright formed Killie’s central defensive combination.
