No rebuff for Duff

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd is hopeful of snatching Damien Duff from under the noses of Barclays Premiership rivals Tottenham.

Both the Magpies and the Blues were refusing to comment publicly today, but it is understood an approach has been made to Chelsea and Shepherd is confident a £10m (€14.7m) deal can be struck.
