Former Toffee Hopkins signs for Waterford United

Waterford United have today announced the signing of former Everton player Paul Hopkins.

Hopkins joins the Blues having been released by David Moyes earlier this summer.

Having been signed to the Everton Academy, Paul moved rapidly through the ranks, knocking in an average of 15 goals a season.

He was promoted to the reserves and was in the senior squad at the beginning of last season.

However, he failed to make an impact and moved on loan to Darlington before signing for the Blues this weekend. He has also been capped at England under 18, 19 and 20 levels.
