Waterford's woes continue
Waterford United 1 Sligo Rovers 2
Darren Mansaram scored a last minute winner to move Sligo up to fifth in the table and keep Blues - who suffered a ninth defeat on the spin - well rooted to the bottom.
Mansaram scored with a terrific downward header from substitute John Bellew’s cross seconds after Blues’ debutant keeper Ben Spicer had made a tremendous stop from the latter’s shot.
Adam Hughes had equalised for Sligo on 67 minutes when tapping home after Mansaram’s shot following Chris Turner’s free kick had come back off the Blues crossbar.
Blues led from the ninth minute from their first corner of the night. Daryl Kavanagh sliced Darren Young's delivery across the face of the Rovers goal and central defender Kenny Browne stole in at the back post to shoot to the net for his second goal of the season.
