Beenhaker takes charge of Poland
Leo Beenhakker has become Poland’s first foreign-born national-team coach after accepting the position today.
The 63-year-old Dutchman replaces Pawel Janas, who resigned after Poland were eliminated from the World Cup in the group stages.
“I believe Beenhakker will introduce a new quality to Polish football and lead us to the European Championship finals for the first time,” Polish football federation president Michal Listkiewicz said.
