Quinn looking for immediate promotion

Niall Quinn has admitted he spent too much time in the Coca-Cola Championship to want to stay there any longer than he has to.

The 39-year-old Irishman yesterday took on the task of dragging Sunderland back into the Barclays Premiership when he formally tabled his consortium’s takeover bid for the club he represented with such pride as a player.
