Goalkeeper Darren Quigley was UCD’s hero with a terrific double save midway through the second half to earn the Students a point.

The Irish under-21 international first parried away a powerful header from Anto Murphy from Michael Foley’s corner before pushing out a shot from very close range by Saints' skipper Darragh Maguire.

Both sides wasted good openings in a lively first half. UCD striker Conor Sammon headed wide following a flowing move early on before Trevor Molloy had an effort cleared off the line at the other end.
