Rebels go top
Cork City 1 Drogheda United 0
Champions Cork avenged their Setanta Cup final defeat to regain the leadership of the Premier Division table with this deserved win.
Ironically, considering they had conceded just two league goals all season, poor defending cost Drogheda the match on the half hour.
Dan Murray’s long ball over the top caught Drogheda square and John O’Flynn was fully alert to capitalise and shoot past Dan Connor.
Roy O’Donovan did have the ball in the Drogheda net again in the second half, but it was ruled out for offside.
