Juanito gives dominant Spain single-goal half-time lead

Spain led 1-0 at half-time against a toothless Saudi Arabia in their last Group H clash in Kaiserslautern.

Juanito’s 36th-minute goal, a close-range header from Jose Antonio Reyes’ free-kick, was the difference between the teams.

Spain were looking by far the more incisive team against the Saudis who looked jittery from the start.

Saudi goalkeeper Mabrouk Zaid allowed his team to go into the break with only a 1-0 deficit, having made numerous outstanding saves.
