West Ham striker Yaniv Katan has returned to Maccabi Haifa on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

The Israel international, 25, moved to Upton Park from Maccabi in January but struggled to break into the first team with Dean Ashton, Marlon Harewood, Teddy Sheringham and Bobby Zamora ahead of him and made just two Premiership starts.
