Wayne Rooney has left the exclusive BUPA hospital in Manchester to await the results of the scan which will make or break his World Cup.

After arriving at the Whalley Range clinic just before mid-day, Rooney spent 25 minutes inside accompanied by Football Association executive director David Davies, respective team doctors of Manchester United and England, Tony Gill and Leif Sward, plus Red Devils physio Rob Swire for the fateful CT scan on his broken foot.
