Hilario close to Chelsea deal
Portuguese goalkeeper Hilario is expected to undergo a medical today before signing for Chelsea.
The 30-year-old should sign a two-year deal with the Barclays Premiership champions, according to reports in Portugal.
Hilario played last season for Primera Divisao club Nacional.
He will be Chelsea’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Czech international Petr Cech and Italy’s Carlo Cudicini.
“I feel so privileged to be a part of this giant club,” Hilario told the Portuguese media.
“I respect and admire Cech and Cudicini, two great goalkeepers, but I have come here with two aims, to work very hard and to make it difficult for Jose Mourinho.
“I want to complicate his life. There are many minutes in a season and I am going to work hard in order to earn the confidence of the coach.”
