Vikings make comeback to beat UCD

Dublin City 2 UCD 1

Well-taken goals from Mark Rooney and Robbie Hedderman lifted Dublin City into the top half of the table as they came from behind to earn their second win on the spin at a sparsely attended Dalymount Park.

Paul Byrne was given far too much room to head UCD in front from Darragh Ryan third minute corner.

Poor in the first half, Vikings stormed back into the game in the second and Mark Rooney brought a terrific save from Darren Quigley be for hitting a deserved equaliser on 61 minutes.

David Freeman played him through and Rooney calmly shot past Quigley.

Vikings kept pressing and got their reward with the winner nine minutes from time.

College didn’t defend Robbie Collins’ corner and Hedderman arrived to head home.
