Wise signs three-year deal

Dennis Wise has been handed the task of dragging Swindon back up from the depths of Coca-Cola League Two after he was unveiled as the club’s new player-manager.

The former England midfielder, who led Millwall to the FA Cup final in 2004, will be joined at the County Ground by his former Chelsea colleague Gus Poyet as his assistant after both signed three-year deals.

Swindon last week parted company with Iffy Onuora after he failed to prevent the Robins from being relegated this season.
