Man City head East

Manchester City will contest the first Shanghai World Series Tournament as part of their pre-season preparations.

Stuart Pearce’s side will play two games in a competition that also includes Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid, Kashima Antlers, who beat Manchester United in Tokyo last summer and hosts Shanghai Shenhua.

The presence of Chinese international Sun Jihai in the City squad is certain to increase interest in the competition, which will be played on August 4 and August 6.
