Injury-hit Dundalk to face new-look Drogs
The battle of Louth takes place tonight in the eircom League Cup with Dundalk hosting league leaders Drogheda United at Oriel Park.
First division Dundalk have a number of injury problems with Peter Hynes (hamstring), Derek Griffin (knee) and John Flannigan (knee) all ruled out.
Drogheda United, meanwhile, will make several changes as manager Paul Doolin looks to freshen his side up after last Thursday’s 2-1 defeat by Shelbourne in the League.
Stephen Bradley (hamstring) is definitely ruled out and has also been forced to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad to face Azerbaijan this week with midfielder partner Paul Keegan getting an international call-up in his place.
Gavin Whelan and Keith Fahey are expected to replace the pair in the centre of midfield while Steven Grey could start at centre half with Jason Gavin a doubt with a tooth problem.
