Shels spurn de Stefano interest

Shelbourne Football Club has turned down a proposed negotiation on the sale of the club with businessman Giovanni de Stefano after he spoke to the media about his intention to approach the club.

In a letter to Mr de Stefano, Shels' chief executive Oliver Byrne said he had been "astonished" that Mr de Stefano "chose to release details of (his) interest to the media in advance of any meeting taking place with Shelbourne FC".
