Late test for Blues duo

Birmingham will give late fitness tests to striker Emile Heskey and winger Jermaine Pennant ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

The duo suffered thigh and groin injuries respectively during Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Blackburn which moved Blues out of the bottom three and are rated 50-50 by manager Steve Bruce.

If Heskey is unfit then Mikael Forssell, who scored the winner against Rovers, is set to be promoted to the starting line-up.

Definitely ruled out are Leading scorer Jiri Jarosik, David Dunn, Muzzy Izzet, Matthew Upson, Stan Lazaridis and Stephen Clemence.
