Everton midfielder Lee Carsley has submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal to the Football Association following his red card against Chelsea.

The 32-year-old was sent off by referee Rob Styles for a challenge on Didier Drogba during the 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Everton boss David Moyes was disappointed with a number of refereeing decision during the game, including the red card for Carsley.

“David felt the decision to send off Lee Carsley was unjustified and we fully support those sentiments,” said Everton chief executive Keith Wyness on www.evertonfc.com

An FA disciplinary commission will consider the claim on April 20.
