Chelsea set up a title decider against Manchester United in a fortnight’s time with a comfortable victory over 10-man Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Goals from Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Michael Essien restored Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Barclays Premiership to nine points

Lampard put Chelsea in control with a trademark low drive in the 28th minute and Drogba powered home an unstoppable header in the 62nd minute.

Everton, who had Lee Carsley sent off in the second half for a reckless challenge on Drogba, had no answer to Chelsea who added a third through Essien in the 74th minute.
