Arteta could miss rest of season
Mikel Arteta is out of both of Everton’s matches over the Easter period and is struggling to be fit to complete the season after picking up an ankle injury in training.
The Spanish midfielder has only just returned to action following a jarred nerve in his back and now definitely misses the home game with Tottenham tomorrow and Monday’s trip to Chelsea.
Winger Andy van der Meyde completes his three-match ban against Spurs and will be available for the Stamford Bridge clash with the champions.
Matteo Ferrari is available after a thigh problem, but Nuno Valente – despite being back in light training – will not be involved over the holiday period.
Teenager James Vaughan, out all season with knee trouble, has had minor surgery in the United States and is expected to be fit for pre-season training.
