Fowler's birthday goal seals win for Reds
FT Liverpool 1 Bolton 0
Robbie Fowler’s first half goal on his 31st birthday was enough to give Liverpool a sixth successive victory.
It was a hard battle to suppress an organised and efficient Bolton, who could easily have had a couple in the first half of this Barclays Premiership match through Kevin Nolan and Stelios Giannakopoulos.
But after the break Liverpool had more control and Xabi Alonso hit a post, with Bolton now having lost their last four games.
Ivan Campo replaced Faye before Dietmar Hamann took over from Fowler, who fully deserved his ovation from the home crowd.
Kewell ran from halfway, being tugged by Hunt all the way, before firing wide of the far post.
Bolton worked tirelessly to get something from the game and it was anything but easy for Liverpool, Djimi Traore coming on for Kewell two minutes from the end.
