Shels get first win of the season

Jason Byrne scored against Waterford once again, but it was far from pretty stuff as Shelbourne won for the first time in the league this season.

As expected, Shels ran the game from the off, but took 40 minutes to break down Blues’ stubborn resistance.

The goal was a bit of a freak as Byrne’s 35-yard free-kick went through the Blues wall and then squirmed under the body of keeper Jimmy Fyfe for his sixth goal against them in the last four games.
