United claim double prize

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has won the Barclays Manager of the Month award for March, with Wayne Rooney picking up the player prize.

United won five games out of five during March, cutting Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premiership to seven points.

Rooney, 20, has featured in all five games, scoring twice against Newcastle and once against Birmingham.
