FA to examine Jewell's ref attack

The Football Association has confirmed it will examine comments made by Wigan manager Paul Jewell following his criticism of referee Phil Dowd after last night’s 1-1 draw at Blackburn.

An angry Jewell described Dowd as “incompetent” and claimed his decisions were “nonsensical“, in particular in allowing Rovers’ late equaliser to stand.
