Wembley crisis takes new twist

The Wembley Stadium debacle is heading for the law courts after the builders’ refusal to pay penalty clauses for yet another delay to the £757m (€1.1m) project.

Multiplex should have stumped up £140,000 (€200,700) a day for every day beyond a January 31 deadline but claim they should be allowed until the end of September due to changes in the contract.
