Guus Hiddink could sign a deal to take over the reins of the Russian national team as soon as next week.

Russian media reports suggest that discussions over a two-year contract for the Dutchman have reached their final stages.

Sport Express newspaper reports that the terms of the agreement are very favourable for Hiddink.

No firm date has been set but the deal could be signed as early as next week.

Hiddink, who last week announced he will leave PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season, is due to coach Australia during the World Cup.

He would then take over as coach of Russia in July.

The former Holland and South Korea boss has also been linked with the job of coach to the England national team and potential coaching roles at his former club Real Madrid as well as Chelsea and Juventus.
