Newcastle have made a bid for Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres, according to the Spain striker.

The 21-year-old, set to lead the line for his country in this summer’s World Cup finals in Germany, is expected to leave the Primera Liga club at the end of the season and he claims Atletico chiefs have informed him of a bid from Newcastle.
