Jimmy Fyffe earned Waterford an unlikely point with a stunning late penalty stop in a dramatic finish at Richmond Park. A handball by substitute Darren Young from Glen Larsen’s throw appeared to give St. Pat’s some reward with five minutes to play.

But Fyffe pushed Trevor Molloy’s penalty round a post.

Saints then had a seocnd goal of the night disallowed before Daryl Kavanagh almost won it for Blues in stoppage time, but Saints’ keeper Barry Ryan tipped his cross onto the bar out for a corner.
