Central defender Alex Bruce is also available after serving a one-match suspension but Matthew Upson, Chris Sutton, Muzzy Izzet and Kenny Cunningham are almost certain to be ruled out as Blues seek their first away win in the Barclays Premiership since November 26.

But midfielder David Dunn could be given a start after recovering from his calf injury and he played an hour for the reserves in midweek.

Provisional squad: Maik Taylor, Melchiot, Martin Taylor, Bruce, Latka, Gray, Lazaridis, Painter, Pennant, Johnson, Butt, Clemence, Jarosik, Dunn, Heskey, Campbell, Forssell, Kilkenny, Vaesen.
