Shearer returns
Newcastle captain Alan Shearer has been included in the squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with Bolton.
The 35-year-old has missed the last three matches with a calf injury and will have a late fitness test, but caretaker boss Glenn Roeder is hopeful he will be able to return.
Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble are both progressing well as they recover from hamstring injuries but they – and Craig Moore, who is back in training after a similar problem – will not be considered.
Michael Owen (foot), Stephen Carr (hernia), Steven Taylor (shoulder) are still out.
Squad: Given, Harper, Ramage, Babayaro, Boumsong, Elliott, Parker, N’Zogbia, Solano, Emre, Bowyer, Clark, Luque, Faye, Brittain, Pattison, O’Brien, Shearer, Ameobi, Chopra.
