Ipswich express Ward interest

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle is interested in signing Bohemians wunderkind Stephen Ward.

Royle was at United Park on Tuesday night keeping tabs on the 20-year-old who scored in the Republic of Ireland Under 21’s 1-0 victory over Sweden.

Ward first came to the attention of Ipswich two weeks ago when he was voted player of the tournament at the Madeira Tournament and the Tractor Boyz are expected to monitor the Bohemians player’s progress before the transfer window opens in July.
