Hiddink will consider Russian role
Guus Hiddink’s agent has refused to rule out the possibility of the England managerial contender becoming Russia’s new technical director.
Reports in Holland say Russia see the PSV Eindhoven and Australia coach as the perfect candidate for the role, and Cees van Nieuwenhuizen told the Brabants Dagblad newspaper that all job offers will be considered.
“There is much interest in Guus and I take all parties that I talk with seriously, but we will not make moves that will hurt the interests of one or more parties,” he said.
“PSV is the number one for him, Australia comes second.”
Last year Hiddink guided Australia to their first World Cup in 32 years and he is contracted to PSV until 2007. However, he remains tight-lipped about his future.
“I will not make any comments on anything for the time being. Within a few weeks everything will become clear,” Hiddink said.
