Newcastle caretaker boss Glenn Roeder will make a late check on skipper Alan Shearer and midfielder Kieron Dyer ahead of tomorrow night’s Barclays Premiership clash with Charlton.

Shearer missed the 1-0 FA Cup fifth-round win over Southampton with a calf injury, while Dyer is recovering after making his first start since August in that game.
