Norwegian ref takes charge at the Bridge
Norwegian referee Terje Hauge will take charge of Chelsea’s Champions League home leg against Barcelona on Wednesday.
The official will come under more scrutiny then usual after the row which blew up when the two sides met in the knock-out stages last season, when Chelsea alleged Barca coach Frank Rijkaard had entered referee Anders Frisk’s dressing room at half-time of the first leg in the Nou Camp.
After much controversy and verbal jousting between the two sides Frisk quit the game after receiving death threats.
Hauge has previously refereed Chelsea twice, when they beat Lazio in the group stages two years ago and earlier this season in the win against Real Betis, both at Stamford Bridge.
He also officiated Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen in Germany in September.
