Rivals draw in thriller
Linfield 1 Derry City 1
The first competitive match between the clubs in 34 years lived up to its billing and both sides can be happy with a point after a rip-roaring Setanta Sports Cup clash at Windsor Park.
A blunder by Derry keeper David Forde gifted Linfield the lead on nine minutes.
Forde failed to gather a cross and Peter Thompson pounced to hook home his 38th goal of the season.
But Derry levelled on 16 minutes when their topscorer from last season, Mark Farren, shot home a penalty after Pat McShane had taken down Pat McCourt.
