Derry City will make history tonight when they travel to Windsor Park to face Linfield in a competitive fixture for the first time in 34 years.

The Setanta Sports Cup clash is easily the biggest game of the opening day's fixtures and both teams are anxious for a good start.

The Irish League outfit are flying at present and are currently 36 games unbeaten and a massive 20 points clear of nearest rivals Portadown in the Irish League.

Noel Bailie (ankle) and Tim McCann (knee) are slight doubts for the clash for Linfield while Derry will be without Clive Delaney (back), Ken Oman (Achilles) and Mark McChrystal (groin).

That means that either right back Eddie McCallion or midfielder Barry Molloy will partner Peter Hutton in the heart of the defence.
