Boro apply for Intertoto Cup

Middlesbrough have applied to take part in next season’s re-vamped Intertoto Cup should they fail to win a third successive qualification for the UEFA Cup.

The Teessiders have confirmed they have asked to be put forward as one of England’s representatives in the much-maligned competition.
