Turner set to deputise
Everton will have their third and fourth choice goalkeepers on parade for the home Barclays Premiership clash with Blackburn.
Scotland Under-21 keeper Iain Turner, who made his club debut in the midweek FA Cup defeat at Chelsea because of Richard Wright’s injury in the warm-up, will now make his Premier League league debut.
Youngster John Ruddy, who played in the reserves in midweek, will be on the bench as substitute. Apart from Wright’s absence, Everton are also without number one Nigel Martyn as he recovers from a minor ankle injury.
Everton will make a late decision on striker James Beattie, who came off at the break at Stamford Bridge with a calf problem. Leon Osman should have recovered from a groin injury to face Rovers, while Alan Stubbs returns after being cup tied.
Provisional squad: Turner, Hibbert, Weir, Stubbs, Ferrari, Nuno Valente, Osman, Davies, Cahill, Arteta, Kilbane, Beattie, McFadden, Ruddy, Naysmith, Carsley, Anichebe, Hughes.
