Gabbidon concern

West Ham have a slight fitness concern over defender Danny Gabbidon ahead of Monday night’s Barclays Premiership clash with Birmingham, but the Wales international is expected to recover from a shin problem.

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll, however, is set to be out for another couple of weeks out with his back injury, so Shaka Hislop will again deputise.

Alan Pardew’s main selection dilemma is in attack, where leading scorer Marlon Harewood is pressing for a recall to the starting XI alongside record signing Dean Ashton, who netted on his home debut last weekend.
