Jewell plans summer spending

Wigan manager Paul Jewell is refusing to bask in the success of guiding the club to the brink of Barclays Premiership safety in their debut season in the top flight.

Despite being many commentators’ favourites for one of the relegation places Jewell’s side have enjoyed remarkable success, currently sitting sixth in the table and having booked a place in the Carling Cup final later this month.
