Blackburn boss Mark Hughes refused to let Rio Ferdinand’s late sending-off deflect from his side’s sensational 4-3 win over Manchester United at Ewood Park.

Ferdinand grabbed the headlines for the wrong reasons in the 88th minute for a bad challenge on Robbie Savage which left the Welshman nursing a badly-gashed shin.
