Celtic manager Gordon Strachan looks set to hand new signing Mark Wilson his debut against Motherwell in the Bank of Scotland Premier League at Fir Park on Sunday.

The former Dundee United full-back is likely to go straight into the side with Strachan short of defenders as Stephen McManus is suspended, Bobo Balde is away on international duty at the African Nations Cup and Du Wei has returned to China after failing to win a contract.

Adam Virgo is also pushing for a starting slot alongside Roy Keane in the centre of defence but Stanislav Varga and Didier Agathe could figure.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Telfer, Keane, Wallace, Petrov, Pearson, Lennon, Nakamura, Thompson, McGeady, Camara, Varga, Hartson, Maloney, Marshall, Lawson, Virgo, Zurawksi, Agathe.
