Barry back for Villa

Aston Villa are boosted by the availability of Gareth Barry for tomorrow’s trip to Tottenham.

Barry returns after sitting out last weekend’s 2-1 defeat against West Ham as he was serving a one-match ban.

He is set to take over from Jlloyd Samuel at left-back as Wilfred Bouma is still sidelined by a knee problem.

Lee Hendrie is on alert to make a rare start as a replacement in midfield for Eirik Bakke.

Bakke has returned to Leeds after Villa could not come up with the cash to make his loan move permanent.

Striker Kevin Phillips, who has missed the last nine games after ankle surgery, will not be risked despite his successful return to action for the reserves in midweek.
