Aldridge makes peace with FAI

John Aldridge has attempted to defuse a row which cast a shadow over Steve Staunton’s appointment as the new Republic of Ireland manager.

Aldridge yesterday accused the Football Association of Ireland of failing to keep scheduled appointments with candidates for the job.
