Reshuffle for Blues
Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho reshuffled his side for the visit of Huddersfield in the FA Cup third round at Stamford Bridge.
John Terry and Frank Lampard were rested along with goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfield anchorman Claude Makelele.
Carlton Cole was given his first start of the season in attack in place of Didier Drogba while German international Robert Huth deputised for Terry.
Shaun Wright-Phillips was preferred to Arjen Robben and Lassana Diarra was handed Makelele’s role in front of the back four. Italian Carlo Cudicini replaced Cech.
Huddersfield lost Jon Worthington through suspension and the League One side teamed Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Pawel Abbott in attack.
