Fitness test for Beckham

David Beckham faces a fitness test today in a bid to feature in Real Madrid’s Spanish Cup tie away to Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.

The England captain suffered a knock during a match against city rivals Atletico Madrid, played in memory of Atletico’s late president Jesus Gil on December 30.

The match finished 1-1, with Beckham, who came on as a second-half substitute, scoring in a penalty shoot-out as Real emerged victorious.
